DitmasParkBlog expands their gentrification project

They have now created another website called "Kensington Prospect." This is horrible news. They just will not be happy until they have turned all of Brooklyn into an overpriced whiteland. Don't worry, we will be following them over there and calling them out as need be. This is not the end of the road.

  1. “Eloise” continues to rail against gentrification and the blogs that measure the growth and diversity, yes diversity of the neighborhoods.
He/She uses the term “overpriced whiteland”.
Our neighborhoods are neither “overpriced” nor overly “white”.
Anyone who actually lives here sees the diversity and the home owners who are enjoying the value of their investments grow.
Maybe we are seeing the blog of a person who was not smart enough to buy when prices were insanely low and has missed a crucial opportunity.
    Sour Grapes?

  2. Gary--

I actually bought in Victorian Flatbush when the only people left were blacks. Remember white flight? My husband and I raised a family here and have paid off our mortgage. What is happening now is that people like DitmasParkBlog are seeking to force long-time residents like myself. They have harassed minority business owners including my hairdresser.

They are trying to turn this into an overpriced whiteland hence buying large houses to breed large families.

The neighborhood was built for white home buyers in the early 1900s. Despite eloise's claim, since that time, the area has been mostly white.

Only in the bad days of high crime rates did blacks noticeably increase their occupancy of the victorian houses.

Meanwhile, it seems beyond eloise's capacity to acknowledge that white flight was the outcome of crime committed by blacks who were living in the nearby buildings as well as the deterioration of the local public schools. That school deterioration was another problem caused by blacks, who were and are academically weaker than whites and asians.
